Spicy Hummus Dip

Here is an easy life hack for enhancing your store-bought hummus. You can actually just swirl in Roasted Garlic Achaar or Tomato Achaar to the hummus or go the extra mile and top with a tadka or hot oil with spices.

Ingredients

Hummus, store-bought 

Tomato Achaar or Roasted Garlic Achaar

1-2 tablespoons mild, high heat oil such as safflower or canola

1 clove garlic, minced

2 teaspoons cilantro, chopped

1 bay leaf

1 chili pepper, sliced (seeds removed for less heat)


Method

Spread a thick layer of hummus onto a plate, swirl in either Tomato Achaar or Roasted Garlic Achaar to taste.  You can stop there or if you are feeling fancy, go to the next step:

For the tadka, first, add your freshly chopped garlic, cilantro, bay leaf, and chili peppers to a small bowl. Pour some hot oil into the bowl and over the mixture (be careful, as it can splatter). 

Once the oil is done sizzling, add it to the hummus and serve with fresh cut baguettes or crackers/veggies of choice!
