Khaana Collective Recipe Zine - Coming Soon!

So excited to tell you about a new project I'm working on at Brooklyn Delhi called Khaana Collective (Khaana means food in Hindi), a zine of sorts that will live online and feature recipes from people I love, admire and am inspired by and who have supported me at Brooklyn Delhi through the years.

The seeds of Brooklyn Delhi began with my local food community right here in Brooklyn. It was where I taught my first cooking classes and hosted my first pop-up dinners. The people I met, taught and collaborated with during that time are now some of my dearest friends. Through writing my blog The ABCDs of Cooking and launching Brooklyn Delhi, that food community has grown beyond Brooklyn and helped me to get to know more people that share my love of cooking and celebrating food traditions.

Over the next few weeks, I'll be introducing you to members of this community and their recipes featured in the Khaana Collective zine through our newsletter and our Instagram. All leading up to the final launch of Khaana Collective which will be emailed out so make sure to sign up for our newsletter to get the first issue!

This photo is from my Uttar Dakshina pop up dinner that I dedicated to my parents and held at Brooklyn Winery when it first opened. I named it Uttar Dakshina, uttar meaning North in my father’s language of Hindi and dakshina meaning South in my mother’s language of Kannada. I wanted to serve a meal to my guests that resembled the ones I ate growing up, which were a mix of North and South Indian foods. Can't believe it was almost 10 years ago, still remember what an amazing night it was.
