Dahi Puri

Dahi Puri

Dahi Puri is a very popular snack all over India and something that I love to eat whenever I'm craving some Indian street food. It is deliciously crispy on the outside, yet soft on the inside, and filled with layers of savory, spicy, and tangy flavors. Once you have all the ingredients prepared, Dahi Puri is very simple to make and requires minimal cooking skills.

Serves 2 people

Ingredients

salt

1/4 tsp garam masala

1 small russet potato - boiled, peeled, and diced

1/4 cup cooked chickpeas

12 golgappa puri - available in Indian grocery stores

1/2 cup yogurt

Brooklyn Delhi Sweet Mango Chutney or Spicy Mango Chutney

2 tbsp chopped cilantro - for garnish

1/4 cup red onion - diced

Guntur Sannam Hot Sauce - drizzle on top

Method

Add salt and garam masala to the potato and chickpeas for flavor. Lightly tap the center of one side of the puri and arrange them on a serving platter.

Add a spoonful of boiled potato and chickpea to each puri.

Take a small spoon and add some yogurt inside the puri, followed by Mango Chutney.

Garnish with some cilantro and red onion and drizzle some Guntur Sannam Hot Sauce on top of the puris for added heat.

Eat right away as it can become soggy quickly!
